Ghana’s number one urban radio station YFM, has introduced a new segment called the Y Leaderboard Series to the ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’.

The ‘Y Leaderboard Series’ is a segment with the objective to develop the youth and provide inspiration to listeners by hosting leaders and achievers in various industries in Ghana and beyond.

The first guest to on the ‘Y Leaderboard Series’ was outspoken Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Agyapong.

His interview came off on May 1, at the YFM studios with Rev. Erskine, host of ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ where he narrated the riveting story of his life before fame and politics.

The celebrated politician enumerated his contributions to the development of Ghana in politics, governance and business creation.

Clinton also came with US lottery. And I was the first person to introduce this program here. My office was at Zaglo house Adabraka. And look, the kind of money I made that time, that is when I came back. After getting broke with Aduboahene’s election,” he said.

Mr. Agyapong also used his experience to teach the youth about resilience and tenacity.

When things like this happen to you and you say you are going to consult whoever, you are making a mistake. Life is never going to be smooth. There are definitely going to be challenges but you will have to rise to the occasion. Strike hard when the iron is hot. You just don’t back off when the iron is hard,” he encouraged.

He disclosed during the interview that, he used to work two jobs in the 90’s and saved enough to buy a vehicle to start a taxi business.

He gave a glimpse of the other side of him that most people didn’t know existed. He mentioned the top five of his favourite Ghanaian musician.Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, King Promise, and Medikal are the five musicians I like most,” he revealed.

Speaking about the new segment, Eddy Blay, YFM Accra Programmes Manager said: “When you dream of conquering the world and you fill your agenda with daunting projects, it’s often necessary to equip yourself with a large mug of coffee and with the right people. That is where YFM comes in and through the leaderboard series brings the right people to our platform to share knowledge and encourage us along the journey.”

The ‘Knowledge is Power’ adage is still relevant as the new reality of the workforce has taught us that sharing knowledge is beneficial to everybody. We will be bringing experienced men and women on the show to share knowledge and inspire the youth, who are the future of the nation Ghana. I encourage the youth of Ghana to come on board with YFM for this inspiring journey. So keep listening to YFM and tune into Y Leaderboard Series every Wednesday at 10am,” he stated.
