Peewood, Tema Bonded Terminal donate ventilators to support COVID-19 fight

Peewood Limited, experts in home and garden furniture business, and Tema Bonded Terminal, have donated 10 ventilators to the Ghana Health Service to support the health sector in the fight against the global pandemic, COVID-19

The donation exercise which forms part of the organisations’ corporate social responsibility (CSR), is aimed at supporting the efforts of the government in managing and handling coronavirus in the country especially those who find themselves in critical condition.

Presenting the items to the Ghana Health Service, a representative of the donors, Adu Arthur, indicated that some specific hospitals had approached them with the request for the ventilators and as such has presented a list for the distribution of the ventilators.

The hospitals include: GPHA International Maritime Hospital, Tema (two); Tema Gov’t Hospital, (one); Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (two); South Suntreso Gov’t Hospital (one); Sunyani Regional Hospital, (one); Ho Teaching Hospital (one); Oda Gov’t Hospital (one) and the Yilo Krobo Municipal Health Directorate (one_.

Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, receiving the ventilators on behalf of government, expressed government’s profound gratitude to the two entities and corporate Ghana in general, urging corporate Ghana to continue to support government in fighting coronavirus in the nation to the later.

He also urged the citizenry to continuously adhere to all the safety protocols put in place by government as well as the Ghana Health Service in fighting COVID-19. He cited wearing of facemasks, social distancing and washing of hands regularly as well as using the hand sanitizers regularly to stay safe.
