Over 10,000 pupils from schools across Accra, have participated and more than 3000 pupils who submitted valid entries, have won prizes in an essay and drawing competition organised by leading noodles brand Indomie. The contest christened ‘Indomie, You Like No Other!’ contest is aimed at encouraging creative writing and drawing skills among the schoolchildren, who are also the biggest fans of the noodles brand.
Every pupil that participated and submitted a valid entry won an Indomie-branded notebook. The competition is also rewarding the top-three in each of the103 participating schools with an Indomie shirt and 10 Indomie-branded notebooks for the first-prize winners; an Indomie shirt and 5 Indomie-branded notebooks for the second-prize winners; while the third-prize winners get an Indomie shirt and 2 Indomie branded notebooks.
Indomie has over the years been providing hot and nutritious noodles in several schools throughout the country. As a follow-up to the sampling programme in Accra, the company decided to also give out notebooks through an essay/drawing competition in order to achieve the twin goal of rewarding the pupils while motivating them to get serious with their schoolwork.
Officials of Indomie have visited the participating schools and given all the winners their prizes. The Marketing Manager of Multipro Private Ltd. – brand distributor of Indomie, Abinaya Mathuraiveeran, expressed delight at the massive interest shown in the competition.
“This is a competition in which everyone is a winner because everybody gets to win something, and that’s how we do it at Indomie.” She explained that the company opted to visit each of the schools to give out the prizes, because that gives the Indomie team an opportunity to interact with and celebrate the winners in their own schools and before their colleagues.”
