According to President of the Ghana Leadership Awards, Professor Emmanuel Yao Nash, Mrs. Anderson has been exceptional in all she has done, and most of her actions continue to benefit not only the people of Ghana but her also home country of Sierra Leone, the African Continent and the world at large.

Prof. Emmanuel Yao Nash said High Commissioner Virginia Anderson having charged with the responsibility of diplomatically representing the President of Sierra Leone in Ghana, her work in that capacity has been exemplary – the reason for her nomination by people for such an award.

Presenting the award to Mrs. Anderson, Professor Nash said the award was given in honour of her extraordinary achievements and service to humanity, Ghana, her country Sierra Leone, and to Africa.

Prof. Nash stated that the award represents two categories – namely Tourism and Leadership Personality of the Year and Outstanding Ambassador of the Year, adding his organisation recognised the High Commissioner’s role in protecting Sierra Leonean citizens in Ghana, and also Ghanaians in Sierra Leone.

Commenting on the award, Mrs. Anderson said she feels elated and overwhelmed by receiving such an honour and having been recognised for what she thought was just normal service to country and humanity, while giving glory to God.

She dedicated the award to God, her family, team at the High Commission, government and People of Sierra Leone, while promising to do more in serving humanity.

The Ghana Leadership Awards have been working in the country by appreciating people in high authority that are doing extremely well in different areas, for the promotion of not only Ghana but also other parts of the world.
