Adansi Rural Bank supports 6 health facilities to fight the spread of COVID-19

Adansi Rural Bank at Fomena in the Adansi North District of Ashanti Region has presented Personal Protective Equipment, PPE and disinfectants to six health institutions in the banks’ operational territories.

The beneficiary health institutions include Benito Hospital in Dompoase-Adansi, Fomena Health Centre and Asokwa Health Centre. Others are Obuasi S.D.A. Hospital, Bryant Mission Hospital, and Akrokerri Health Centre.

The items worth GHS20,000.00 include over 100 gallons of hand sanitizers and about 100 gallons of disinfectants as well as tissue paper.

The General Manager of Adansi Rural Bank, Mr. Akwasi Ossei Nkrumah who presented the items on behalf of the Bank said the donation is to support the government’s efforts to stem the spread of the coronavirus which has so far infected 1042 persons and claimed 9 lives.

According to him, the pandemic which has sent shivers down the spine of many across the world and has claimed lives has affected economic activities in their operational territories and as a socially responsible organisation, there is the need to contribute to government’s efforts to curb or control the spread of the virus.

Mr. Nkrumah also believes that the support will also help reinforce the message that the Health Ministry and the Ghana Health Service have been stressing; the importance of washing hands under running water as well as the application of hand sanitisers among other precautionary measures.

Representatives of the beneficiary institutions who received the items on behalf of the health facilities were thankful to the Bank for the kind gesture.

They further expressed their appreciation for the numerous support the Bank has been giving to them and further called on other corporate entities to emulate the Adansi Rural Bank example particularly in this abnormal time of COVID-19.

Speaking on the sidelines of the donation, the Business Development Manager of the bank, Nana Agyemang Asamoah said the bank as an institution has made significant adjustments in its operations to guarantee the safety of its staff and cherished customers during and after these challenging times.

According to him, they are observing the safety protocols while they still operate to keep their mandate as a bank satisfying the banking needs of the people within their catchment areas.
