I happened to chance upon a conversation in which I heard a lady say to her friend: “My dear sister, look at me; throughout the years I haven’t been able to do anything for myself. The only thing I have done is to work throughout the years, yet no progress”.
Many are those who have allowed the year to cost them lifetime decisions.
They have allowed the year to grip them in a standstill.
They have allowed the year to toss them to and from
They have allowed the year to push and pull them apart.
The year is simply the time taken by our planet to make one revolution around the sun.
So, why then do we always allow years, which are inanimate, to dictate to our lives? Notice in the definition it is never the time it takes you and I to make a revolution around the sun, but a planet.
Moreover, a planet is a celestial body moving in an elliptical orbit around a star.
Again, you and I are not planets.
Perhaps you are wondering, what is he up to?
I just want you to know that you don’t need to be conscious of the year. The year doesn’t have any bearing on your purpose in life.
Do not let the year limit you. Don’t say to yourself: “Look at me, I haven’t accomplished so and so within this year; only that and that have I been able to do”.
Again, you want to ask, “So, shouldn’t we take stock of the year?” and my answer is please do, but take stock against your purpose in life – never a year.
The only thing that should dictate to your life is your purpose. For out of your purpose is derived plans, preparation, programmes, processes, progress, power opportunities and expectations.
Cases in point are married couples that haven’t given birth yet. If they know their purpose is to give birth then they should look at that purpose only, and never the years that have gone past.
Cases in point are companies that haven’t been able to meet their target yet. If they know their purpose is to serve customers, then they should look at that purpose only and never the years that have gone past.
Cases in point are people who have dedicated themselves to changing causes in life yet it seems they are not impacting. If they know their purpose is to live eternally, they will look at that purpose only and never the years that have gone past.
Instead of resolutions for a year, release your purpose – for better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. The year is not a yard for you, but it yearns to fulfil your purpose.
Think about it.
