PETROSOL CEO adjudged the oil & gas personality of the year 2019

Mr. Michael Bozumbil, the Chief Executive Officer of PETROSOL Ghana Ltd was adjudged the Oil & Gas Personality of the Year 2019(Downstream) at the recently held Ghana Oil & Gas Awards event held in Accra.

He was given the award in recognition of his role in building PETROSOL as a highly respected OMC brand in the country, the key role he has played in advocating for best business practices and the creation of conducive business climate in Ghana; his thought leadership engagements and community impact.

A passionate advocate of ethical business conduct, win-win business relationships and best practices, Mr. Bozumbil has over the years led his young Ghanaian team to build PETROSOL as a unique, value-for-money, ethically conscious and caring brand that delivers quality petroleum products in full quantity to its consumers across the country. Their recent introduction of the high quality PETROSOL Platinum range of lubricants formulated and blended to international standards is a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality. This has made him previously win the Oil & Gas CEO of the Year 2018 (Downstream) at the Ghana Oil & Gas Awards in 2018, Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 at the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI) Awards.

He has also led his team to win several corporate awards previously, some of which are: Best Growing Oil & Gas Company of the Year 2018, Best Company in Safety Management Practices (2018), Oil & Gas Finance Team of the Year 2018, Marketing Campaign of the Year 2016, Emerging Brand of The Year 2015.

 

In the area of advocacy, as the Vice Chairman of the Governing Board of the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMC), Mr. Michael Bozumbil has represented the Association during discussions with the Ministry of Energy and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and has always advocated for best practices as well as regulatory reforms aimed at ensuring a healthy petroleum downstream industry.

Besides his leadership role in the industry, Mr. Bozumbil also plays a key role in the larger Ghanaian business community. He is an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Employers Association, an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry and also represents the AOMC at the level of the Private Enterprise Federation (PEF), the national apex body of the business associations in Ghana.

Through the above platforms, he has engaged with key stakeholders to advocate for reforms to improve the business climate in Ghana. Some of the engagements include being part of business leaders’ meetings with policy makers to get them appreciate the need to fashion out policies that will promote private sector growth and sustainable job creation.

Internationally, Mr. Bozumbil has represented the Ghanaian business community at a number of high level international conferences and summits and has successfully made a strong case for the private sector in Ghana and Africa, in general.

In thought leadership engagements, Mr. Bozumbil has written extensively on the petroleum downstream industry in Ghana and also taken up conference speaking roles during which he has shared his thoughts on the future of the industry and the policy interventions required to ensure the sustainability of the industry.

Regarding community impact, Mr. Bozumbil, through his leadership of PETROSOL, has ensured that the company’s corporate social responsibility interventions have targeted the venerable segments of the society and this has changed the lives of such people. He has also ensured that PETROSOL’s stations operate in compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure safety and environmental sustainability leading to PETROSOL winning award and recognition to this effect.
