Childhood cancer care delivery in Ghana has many dire challenges, with a large portion of communities still without access to this basic health care service.
With just about two childhood cancer treatment centres (Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and a bigger one in Korle-Bu), Wesoamo Child Cancer Foundation is helping to give a solution this major healthcare problem.
To help mitigate the challenges, Loyalty Hotel – a subsidiary of the Loyalty Group of Companies – has given a cash donation, at a fundraising dinner-dance in Accra, to the Wesoamo Child Cancer Foundation in this month of love as part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
The group chairman, Mr. Tommy Annan – along with the Managing Consultant, Mr. Cephas Kojo Asimadi, made the donation on behalf of the hotel.
Speaking at a ceremony to present the items to the foundation, Mr. Annan said there is a need for the private sector to support health care providers and facilities in the country.
He said it is the group’s aim to make health care services affordable and easily accessible to deprived Ghanaians.
