Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has rolled out a four-month promotion with a total prize package valued at GH¢2.5million to celebrate both Ghana’s Independence Day and Guinness lovers in a unique style
Marketing Manager of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Lesego Lebogang Mohale, said the company is giving away millions of instant prizes: including; 620,000 bottles of free Guinness and half a million units airtime on all the telecommunications networks.
“Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has once again proven to be Ghana’s favourite stout with the launch of a national consumer promotion. The campaign is aimed at giving Ghanaians an opportunity to win a share of GH¢1million and millions in instant prizes including 620,000 free bottles of Guinness as the nation celebrates 62 years of independence,” she said.
“We are actually giving away GH¢2.5million worth of prizes, and that is really broken down to celebrate the 62 years of independence: the first layer is we are going to give our Ghanaian consumers a share of a million Ghana cedis that they can win, and this money is going to be won instantly. On top of that, we are going to give away half a million in airtime across all the telcos,” she added.
Lesego Lebogang Mohale added that the promotion, dubbed ‘1759 celebrates 1957’ seeks to celebrate the efforts our forefathers made in the struggle of independence for Ghanaians.
“As an iconic brand that was established in 1759, we recognise the strife of our forefathers in the struggle for independence in 1957, and we designed this promotion to celebrate the incredible people and culture of Ghana, the motherland. By this, we have also designed a special limited-edition celebratory label that contains 62 icons and landmarks which truly celebrate what is means to be Ghanaian,” she said.
Speaking on dynamics of the promotion, she explained that from March 1 to June 30, 2019, look out for the limited-edition celebratory bold Guinness FES nationwide; look under the crown and you’ll see a code, text it to 1759 and you could be one of the 88,000 weekly winners.
“We’ll also be rewarding one lucky consumer per month with GH¢5,000. In addition, there are also 620,000 free Guinness bottles up for grabs; so, if you get a crown that says ‘free drink’ underneath, simply hand it over to the bar staff and you will be rewarded with a free Guinness.”
Leticia Teiko Insaidoo, Customer Marketing Director, said the company is confident about the promotion and will look for more innovative ways to create a memorable experience.
