Organizers of Gold Coast Excellence Awards, NMJ Ghana, have published its list of nominees for the maiden edition of the awards.
The awards, which is set to be held in March will celebrate exceptional and distinguished businesses and individuals in Ghana who have excelled, and contributed to the growth and development of the country in their fields of endeavor.
Speaking to invited guests and the media at an event to announce the nominees, the Chief Operations Officer (C.O.O.) of NMJ, Mimi Andani-Michaels said the awards was established to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and excellence in Ghanaians.
She further stated that it was essential to recognize and honor deserving Ghanaian brands as well as inspire future generations to aim higher.
Madam Andani-Michaels also said that the awards encapsulate various categories which cover a wide range of industries and provides a comprehensive insight to the most exceptional examples of expertise that other industries can emulate and build upon.
She said the criteria for settling on the nominees was based on their contribution to the growth of the county.
“As an entrepreneur, what is your contribution towards the growth of the country, how many people do you have in your company, how do you treat your workers and clients? All of these amongst others is what we look out for,” she stated.
Also speaking at the event Mr. Prince Amatey, a software developer with Apps and Mobile Solutions; the company in charge of overseeing the voting process with their technology assured all and sundry that the voting process cannot be compromised to the advantage of any individual or group.
In narrating how the voting process works, Mr. Amatey explained that unlike the conventional voting by text process, interested participants can vote for an unlimited number of times at a go. The short code for the voting process is *447*1957# for all networks.
In all a total of 29 different categories with over 100 brands were announced in areas such as banking, real estate, sports, media, agriculture, architecture, tourism and hospitality, electronics, telecommunications, data service provision, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles among others.
The Gold Coast Excellence awards is instituted by NMJ Ghana, organizers of Golden Movie Awards Africa in collaboration with Events Hub and Logistics.
