Anthony Jordan retires from Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited

After 36 years of meritorious service to the Republic Bank brand, Mr. Anthony Jordan has retired from active service with a colorful farewell held in his honour by Republic Bank (Bank) Ghana at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

Mr. Anthony Jordan joined the Republic Bank Group in 1983 in Trinidad & Tobago as a Graduate Trainee and rose through the ranks from Banking Operations, Capital Market, Credit and Risk Management and finally to the Managing Director’s role at Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited.

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison, and the Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Samuel Atta Akyea graced the occasion and lauded Mr. Jordan for his leadership and contribution to the nation.  The President of Republic Financial Holdings Limited, Mr. Nigel Baptiste who was also present at the function, recounted many heroic moments of Mr. Jordan working with Republic Bank Trinidad and other subsidiaries of the Group.

In his farewell speech, Mr. Anthony Jordan thanked the Republic Bank Group for its support during his 36-year stewardship and the opportunity for growth afforded him to the highest level in his banking career.  He also thanked stakeholders who had played various roles in his career. He was full of praise for the hospitability shown him by Ghanaians, the Government, Regulators and Customers of the Bank.

Under his leadership as the Managing Director, the Bank successfully rebranded to Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited, the Bank fully met the Bank of Ghana’s Minimum Capital Requirement, a majority of the Bank’s Branches underwent major facelifts, the digitization of the Bank went on full throttle, among other notable achievements.  Mr. Jordan will be sorely missed for his detailed orientation, strategic thinking and the drive for results.
