Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah has confirmed that the Ghana Football Association has been dissolved.
According to him, the institution is ‘not fit for purpose’ and that government will consult widely before putting up a management team in place.
It follows a video by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ #Number 12 documentary on corruption in Ghana football which premiered on June 6 in Accra.
He explained that all structures, programmes including the Premier league, activities of Ghana football have been suspended.
“We are communicating to all the structures that the GFA is dissolved” he said on Accra based radio station, Joy fm.
This kind of development is likely to earn Ghana football a ban by FIFA.
