Readers and Leaders, an NGO that seeks to promote literacy and develop leadership potential in children, have held a mentorship session at the Faith Community Baptist School in Madina. The event was part of activities marking the launching of the third edition of the Young Ruler Magazine, a magazine that aims to empower children to become agents of transformation in the society. The program was sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Ltd, producers of Cowbell products.
Over 300 students participated in the event, which was under the theme, “Living on purpose.” The main speaker of the event, Ms Jennifer Burckson, Editor of the Young Ruler magazine, urged the students to live intentionally, incorporating into their lifestyles habits that were compatible with their dreams and goals. She noted that successful people and leaders all around the world are people who pursued their visions until they became a reality. She challenged the students to determine to make an impact in their society and in their country, since Ghana needed such people to help transform the nation.
The students displayed their talents in a variety of activities such as a public speaking contest, poetry recitals, Spelling bee and choreography.
Cowbell treated the students with free sampling of their latest brand, Cowbell Gold.
The Young Ruler magazine is published thrice a year and is available in major bookshops, supermarkets and schools around the country.
