|Numero Uno, the department store style shopping destination at Marina Mall, has hosted the first session of its Style Talk with “The Business of Beauty”, a discussion featuring local beauty entrepreneurs.
The Style Talk series provided a platform for fashion and beauty personalities and entrepreneurs to share their voice and experience on the state and future of style in Ghana.
In an interview, Manager of Numero Uno, Nadine El Khoury Yazbeck, said introducing the Style Talk series was an ideal opportunity to discuss pursuing one’s passion for beauty as an entrepreneur.
panelists and guests for the discussions were made up of Stephanie Adu, Founder and CEO of Colorbox Cosmetics, Violet Amo Amoabeng, Founder of Skin Gourmet, Asare Prince Owusu, a Celebrity and Editorial Makeup artist, and moderated by beauty blogger Ruth Nartey.
During the discussion, Stephanie Adu of ColorBox Cosmetics, a Ghanaian Makeup Brand noted that: “The beauty industry in Ghana is fairly unexplored, there are new trends popping up and endless opportunities to be seized. We need people that are aggressive, relentless and consistent and are willing to push the limits of creativity and passionate about contributing positively to the beauty industry”.
On his part, Asare Prince Owusu, a celebrity Makeup artist said: “A challenge in the beauty industry in Ghana is the lack of professionalism among beauty brands. Beauty and professionalism are intricately linked and it is what distinguishes your brand from other businesses. The ability to keep and make your clients happy will result in building and sustaining a brand that has stood the test of time”.
The event was attended by beauty and media personalities Vanessa Gyan, Radio Personality at Live FM, Chris Kata, Actress and TV Host at 3 Music Network and Chrissy Jones, CEO of CJZ Makeovers.
Following the discussion, guests enjoyed music, Nouba cosmetics makeovers and drinks provided by Marina Market Wine Shop while shopping from Numero Uno’s many promotions on designer apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.
Guests were appreciated with incentives to take advantage of the store’s great shopping deals including complimentary shopping vouchers to be used towards purchases made during the event.
