Minister for Information designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has stated that the soon to be constituted Normalization Committee to reform the Ghana Football Association will complete its work by the end of March 2019.
Government has already taken practical steps to discontinue with the Liquidation of the Ghana Football Association by filing a motion at an Accra High Court to withdraw the Liquidation petition following the Anas Number 12 Corruption expose’ documentary.
It is in fulfillment of an agreement signed between the Government of Ghana and the Federation of International Football Associations in Zurich, Switzerland where both sides decided to establish a normalization committee that would replace the GFA’s Executive Committee.
Briefing the press on the matter in Accra Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed that the committee will work with the government of Ghana, the Confederation of African Football and FIFA.
“Once the GFA status meets the requirement of FIFA and CAF, this normalization committee will organize and conduct elections of the GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA status” he told the press in Accra.
The Information Minister designate also announced that government was expecting a delegation from FIFA and CAF to Ghana to assess the suitability of the names proposed by government for the Normalization Committee.
The committee will be expected to pave way for the reorganization of Ghana Football moving forward and will be tasked to complete all reforms before March 2019.
