All is set for the national finals of the Milo U-13 Champions League to get underway at the Paa Joe Park Kumasi, KNUST from 20-23 June after the remaining zonal qualifiers were decided last weekend.
The final zonal qualifiers held at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana at Koforidua in the Eastern Region saw Amasaman M/A Primary School from the Greater Accra Region emerged winners of Zone-4, comprising of schools from Greater Accra, Volta and Eastern Regions.
Amasaman M/A heads to the national finals as Zone-4 champions and representatives of Greater Accra, alongside St. Anthony R/C Primary, Eastern Region and Nkwanta Redeem D/A Primary School from the Volta Region.
It was an intense competition at Cocoa Research park as 12 schools from three regions competed fiercely to be crowned champions and for an opportunity to represent their regions at the grand finale.
However, Amasaman M/A stood tall after beating Redeem D/A 2-0 to be crowned champions with an own goal from Kpalo Joshua, and a stunner from Alex Amoafa who was joint goal king on 4 goals with Bilson Agyapong of St. Anthony R/C.
Bilson Agyapong, however, was not only a joint goal king, but also the Most Valuable Player of the zone.
Some of the qualified schools that will compete in finals from the other zones are: Kaladan E/P from the Northern Region; Kundugud Primary from U/W Region; St. Mark Primary from U/E Region; and Sepe Timpon M/A Primary from Ashanti Region.
Others include; Techimantia Methodist Primary from Brong Ahafo Region, Myohang Forces Primary from Western Region and A&D Memorial Basic School from the Central Region.
It promises to be an attention-grabbing national finals and organisers and lovers of youth football alike, are looking forward to exciting games at the final.
Winners will walk away with a giant trophy, medals, cash prizes, footballs and other souvenirs from Nestle Ghana Limited.
