The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has apologized to the Privileges Committee for an alleged unsavoury word, “cheap” he used to describe the legislature.
However, he maintained that he never described Parliament as “useless” as it is been speculated.
Appearing before the Privileges Committee of Parliament on Monday, Mr. Agyapong indicated he rather used the word “cheap” other than “useless” and that he was taken out of context.
The chairman for the Committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu indicated that he was being investigated over the use of those two word; “cheap and useless”.
The Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, filed a motion accusing Kennedy Agyapong of allegedly making contemptuous comments about the House in public.
Mr. Agyapong was subsequently summoned to appear before Parliament’s Privileges Committee which addresses such matters.
