Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta is upbeat about the revival of the cedi, maintaining that he expects a bounce and stability within the year.
Presenting the 2018 mid-year review budget on the floor of Parliament, he indicated the New Patriotic Party had “competently managed” the economy and built robust structures for sustainable growth.
“Volatilities were due to external circumstances. Cedi will be stable throughout the year. I am confident” he said.
He indicated that from January to May, 2018, a trade surplus of 1.35bill was recorded.
