The Managing Director of the World Trade Centre (WTC) Accra, Ms. Jane Reindorf-Attoh, has emphasised the Centre’s readiness to host the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) 2021 general assembly to showcase the country’s economic opportunities to the international business community.

“Ghana’s economy is accelerating at an ever-increasing , making it a symbol of stability and economic opportunity in all of Africa; hosting the 2021 WTCA General Assembly in Accra is an important destination and a gateway to the continent for business.

“Hosting the international audience of executives and leaders which attend this event provides a platform to showcase the richness of Ghana’s culture and economic opportunity, and that of all of Africa,” said Ms. Reindorf-Attoh at a media conference in Accra.

Ghana was selected based on the submission of a highly-compelling bid to host the event in addition to what the country had to offer members of the WTCA, as well as to global companies looking to explore Africa as a business destination.

Ms. Reindorf-Attoh said the General Assembly is the WTCA’s premiere event and is held each spring in a different city around the world, and hosted by a member of the association.

She said the event serves as a networking platform for WTCs and both local and international companies, helping businesses around the globe to find new partners and enter new markets.

The WTCA is a network of more than 300 highly-connected, mutually-supporting businesses and organisations in nearly 100 countries.

The WTCA licences exclusive rights to the WTC and tri-globe logos for its members to use in conjunction with their independently-owned, iconic property, facilities and trade services offerings.

WTC Accra holds a licence and maintains exclusive rights from the WTCA to operate a WTC in Accra.

Through a robust portfolio of events, programming and resources it offers to members, the goal of the WTCA is to help local economies thrive by encouraging and facilitating trade and investment across the globe through member engagement.
