Prof. Bernard Baiden (Operations) called on other corporate bodies to emulate the laudable example of Stanbic bank and support golf. The sport is still perceived as being beyond the reach of the ordinary – but that notion is gradually going away, especially at the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi, where His Majesty has opened up the course to all who are interested in golf.
The club has also come up with a number of training packages and incentives which are all aimed at easing entry into the game. Prof. Baiden was optimistic that events such as the Stanbic-Otumfuo invitational will go a long way in bringing more people to golf. Finally, he expressed the gratitude of the club for the honour of hosting such a tournament on behalf of His Majesty and thanked Stanbic Bank for the sponsorship.
