National Insurance Commission pays working visit to Kenyan counterpart

The Commissioner of Insurance of the National Insurance Commission, Mr. Justice Yaw Ofori, and Board Chairman of the Commission Mr. Emmanuel Ray Ankrah recently paid a working visit to the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The visit was to gain understanding of the administration and management of IRA’s Motor Vehicle database and other relevant supervisory and regulatory issues within its legal and regulatory framework.

The visit was also to learn how the IRA’s supervision and enforcement departments operate, and to have an in-depth knowledge on how the Kenyan Insurance College is funded and run.

Messrs Ofori and Ankrah were hosted by Commissioner of the IRA, Mr. Godfrey Kiptum, and Board Chairman of the IRA, Honourable Abdirahin Haithar Abdi.

The National Insurance Commission delegation took the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the Ghana High Commissioner to Kenya and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations’ (UNON), Mrs. Francisca Ashietey-Odunton’s office in Nairobi.
