Michael Luguje made acting Director General of GPHA

Mr. Michael Luguje has been appointed by the President, Nana  Akufo  Addo as the new Acting Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

Minister of Transport, Mr. Kweku Ofori Asiamah officially introduced him to the management of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, (GPHA).

Speaking to the media, the sector minister said, Mr. Luguje, will be acting until the board confirmed his appointment.

He said Mr. Luguje is over qualified to become the Director General of GPHA because he possessed an impressive credentials.

According to the sector minister, the new Director General used to work with GPHA but became the Secretary General of  Port management association of West and Central Africa In Nigeria.

Mr. Asiamah explained President Nana Akufo Addo see Mr. Luguje as the best person to superintendent over the ports and invited him back home to serve his country, subsequently to the removal of Mr. Paul Asare Ansah about three to four weeks ago.

He advised him to fulfill the vision of the President, and help enhance the image of GPHA, and called on management and the media to give him the necessary support he needs to work.

Mr. Micheal Luguje said his assignment is to superintendent over the operations of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) and he is hoping to bring his knowledge on board for the development of the port.
He promised to play the role expected of him, work with the management as a team to ensure the ports continue to grow better and position better to compete within the sub region.
Mr. Luguje said he and management will ensure Ghana continue to be the leading gate way in West Africa maritime trade.

Mr. Luguje joined the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) in January 1999, and has fifteen years experience in the maritime transport industry.
He holds a B.A. Degree in French and Linguistic from the University of Ghana, MSc in maritime affairs (specializing in port management) from the World Maritime University (Sweden), and MBA in Project and strategic Management from the Paris Graduate School of Management. (France).
