Gov’t slaps taxes on luxury vehicles

The Finance Minister has revealed that government will impose taxes on luxury vehicles with engine capacities of more than 3.0 litres.

The eco-tax is among some of the new tax policy measure seeking to increase government’s tax revenues.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta said this when he presented the 2018 mid-year budget review on the floor of parliament today.

Owners of such vehicles will between GHS1,000 and GHS2,000 when registering the vehicle and subsequently a similar amount when renewing their roadworthy certificates.
