University of Sussex Librarian pays a visit to UGBS library

Ms. Suzanne Tatham, an Academic Services Manager at the University of Sussex Library has paid a visit to the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) library.

She was received by Ms. Sitsofe Afua Dzansi, the UGBS Librarian, who took her on a tour of the K. E. Adjei Library on the main campus and the UGBS Tullow Library at the UGBS Graduate Building.

Prior to her visit to the Business School, Ms. Tatham had interactions with the University of Ghana Library System Librarians at the Balme Library, where she made seminar presentations on her experience from working in the University of Sussex’s library system.

Besides the Balme Library, she has visited other libraries within the university – including the School of Law Library, African Studies Library and School of Public Health Library – to familiarise herself with their activities.

Ms. Tatham, who was accompanied by Mr. Newton Akrong-the coordinator for the visit, is a Chartered Librarian who holds an MA in Information Science.

She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a PG Certificate in Higher Education. She leads a team dedicated to providing research support, and teaching support and collection management across all subject areas. She has a strong interest in user-experience and has presented at conferences on the three-year collaboration with SAGE publishers to explore the student journey.

Ms. Tatham expressed her satisfaction with the quality of infrastructure and organisation of the University of Ghana Library System, and looks forward to her next visit.
