The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Hassan Tampuli, was given a special award at last weekend’s Oil and Gas award, for his contribution to the petroleum sector, in the country.
In a citation that accompanied the award, the organizers said under his leadership, the NPA has instituted measures to deal with the operations of illegal fuel smugglers in the country.
They also noted that he has ensured the introduction of stringent guidelines for export, particularly the replacement of an insurance bond with a Bank Guarantee, since September 2017 and MGO foreign supply since April 2018 and lots more.
The NPA is today a robust regulator, promoting policies that ensure the health and safety of the public, through fuel quality.
The award is the second in less than a week which the NPA has picked. The NPA before this award had also picked the Best Quality Leadership Award, Gold Category, in a ceremony organized by the European Society for Quality Research in Las Vegas, United States of America.
