Chief Executive Officer of Airtymn Enterprise, Gina Boakye Koduah, an agent for MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) has been rewarded with a brand-new Hyundai i10 salon car after she was adjudged the Overall Best Agent at an awards/dinner event in Accra.
The awards is an annual activity of the telecoms giant, MTN, to recognize and appreciate its agents across the country for their display of integrity and professionalism that are driving the success of the MTN mobile money service.
Several other agents, who worked hard to push the mobile money service received items ranging from mobile phones, television sets, motorbikes and MTN branded souvenirs.
MTN’s General Manager for Mobile Financial Services (MFS), Eli Hini, indicated in his remarks that the occasion was the company’s way of appreciating its numerous agents whose dedication and hard work has brought several recognitions to the MTN mobile money service.
He said: “This is an opportunity for us to acknowledge hardworking agents for exhibiting professionalism and pushing the growth of the MTN MoMo service.
By this award, we are asking them to work diligently to ensure more customers get a good experience of the service. We expect them to serve as good ambassadors of the brand and go about their work with integrity.”
Mr. Hini cautioned the agents against charging unapproved fees as it affects transaction volumes and also eschew fraudulent acts that can affect customers’ trust for the MoMo service.
Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, hinted that next year will be “very interesting for mobile financial services” as electronic transactions will be key to achieving a digitized economy.
“The push towards a digitized and paperless economy is hinged on the success of an efficient and effective digital payment platform,” he said.
He encouraged the MoMo agents to do better and get rewarded accordingly in the coming year, when the mobile money service chalks 10 years.
