MTN Ghana has presented some assorted items and cash to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.
The gesture is in support of this year’s Eidul-Fitr celebration which is set to come off this weekend for Muslims in Ghana and around the globe.
Items donated included a ram, bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, boxes of mineral water, packs of soft drinks, MTN airtime worth GH¢ 500.00, and GH¢ 5,000.00 cash.
Leading a delegation of MTN Ghana officials to do the presentation at the Chief Imam’s residence in Accra on Wednesday, Salihu Abu, Senior Manager, Customer Services and Credit Management said the donation also goes to affirm the company’s appreciation for the public’s patronage and loyalty.
He added that it will further strengthen the company’s ties with the society.
“The end of Ramadan is a time of joy as we extol the values of the Islamic faith; empathy, charity, holiness and patience. We at MTN believe that these values help us in cultivating relationships and forging a better and stronger social fabric as a people.
In the spirit of Ramadan and Eidul Fitr, and in furtherance of our existing relationship with the Chief Imam and the Muslim community, we are here to lend our support once more towards the successful celebration of Eidul Fitr.”
On behalf of the group, Mr. Abu wished the Chief Imam and all Muslims well as they celebrate the festivity.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the Chief Imam, Yunusah Osman Mohammed who is Advisory Board Member at the office of the Imam expressed gratitude to MTN for the kindness.
