Heritage Bank Limited celebrates one year of business operations

Heritage Bank Limited, Ghana, a wholly indigenous bank which began official business operations in February last year has celebrated its first anniversary. The Bank made its debut into the Ghanaian banking sector with a bold promise to transform the Ghanaian banking experience.

The Bank in the first year has opened four Branches in Accra- Airport City, East Legon, Dzorwulu and Abossey-Okai as well as two branches in Kumasi- Adum and Suame-Magazine. The Bank has also established a first-class USSD Mobile Banking service which enables customers to carry out a slew of banking transactions simply by dialing the short code *713*818# on their mobile gadgets. This innovation has been a source of delight to many customers of the Bank who are able to check their account balances, buy credits, pay bills and transfer money instantly to other domestic banks or between their bank account and mobile money wallets.

Remarking on the Bank’s attainments within a year of operations in the business sector, Managing Director of Heritage Bank, Patrick Fiscian stated: “It’s been an exciting and rewarding journey so far; with the support of our customers and other key stakeholders we have been able to make significant strides within just one year. This lends credence to our motto: It’s Possible. I believe the enviable grounds we’ve covered as a one-year old bank have been made possible by our unique customer-centric approach to banking.”

He further elaborated, “In our bid to transform the Banking experience in Ghana, we have placed emphasis on maximizing convenience for our customers by listening to them in order to have a deep understanding of what they need and want. This approach has aided us to fashion bespoke banking services for each customer’s particular requirement. We are well on course to usher in a new era of convenience in banking, providing a reliable and customized banking experience to our Ghanaian clientele.”

General Manager for Retail Banking, Mark Achiampong assured customers of the Bank and the general public that the bank will keep on innovating products and services that help to improve their quality of life and ultimately assist them to attain financial freedom. He took the opportunity to throw more light on the Bank’s proprietary consumer asset finance loan scheme.  This allows customers of the bank to buy consumer products such as office and home furniture, home appliances such as Fridges, Stoves, Microwaves, Pressing Irons etc., electronic gadgets (TV sets, Home Theatre sets, Sound systems etc.) personal computers, smartphones and more. This is the outcome of partnerships with an array of merchant partners. Payment can be made in convenient installments over a period of twelve months with no processing fees or charges. Partners for the Asset Finance Scheme include Lifestyle Gallery, LG Electronics, iPlace, Electroland Ghana.

Five more Branches of the Bank are to be opened in the ensuing months at Tema, Accra New Town, Nima, Nima Market and Swedru.
