The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) won the Bronze award for the Best Government Use of Social Media, Citizen Engagement category during the 8th Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA) 2018 held in Accra.
The Ghana Police Service (GPS) and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) won Gold and Silver award respectively in the same category.
Receiving the award, Mr. John Atta Kakra Kusi, a Senior Corporate Affairs Officer of GTA said: “This award goes a long way to prove how much work the authority puts in its engagement with the general public to address issues facing the tourism sector in the country. We are grateful for the recognition. Hard work indeed pays.”
GITTA is an award program in the industry of Information Technology and Telecommunications to promote innovation and excellence in the Ghana ICT sector and has been in existence for the past eight years, recognizing 54 different categories of related activities.
This year is the first time the GTA has been nominated in any of the categories.
Guest speaker for the awards night, George Andah, Deputy Minister of Communication, in his remarks charged the awardees to continue in their quest to be the best and sustain the good work they have been recognized for.
