The Ghana Exim Bank, a strategic and leading principal export financial Institution has been recognized and honoured with an international award as the “Best Financial Institution of the Year 2018” for its immense financial and strategic support to the agricultural sector in Ghana since it begun full operations in 2017.
The award event was the climax of a 2-day International “Meet The Farmers Conference” held from 4th to 5th November, 2018 in Dubai, UAE.
The conference is an agro conference that aims to connect large scale agro commodity producers to buyers alike between Africa and the GCC countries.
Organized by CRENOV8, a leading conglomerate consulting and digital firm in the Middle East, Dubai and Africa, the organizers lauded the innovative roles that Ghana Exim Bank has played in its short existence by disbursing and financing the Non-traditional export agriculture sector in Ghana to a tune of more than GHS 414 million within the past two years..
” The bank has outlined 15 agric sectors with a focus on non-traditional export development including cashew, avocado, orange, fresh sweet potatoes, amongst others, which will, no doubt, create jobs, help industrialize Ghana’s rural economy and generate foreign exchange…this is very impressive” said the organizers during the award ceremony.
Richard Osei Anane, Head of Corporate Affairs, Ghana Eximbank received the award on behalf of Mr Lawrence Agyinsam, CEO.
