2nd edition of Shippers Awards 2018 opens nominations

Nominations have opened for the second edition of the Ghana Shippers Awards, which is set to come off on 22nd June 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.

The Ghana Shippers Awards provide a platform to recognise individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry, while recognizing key functions within the industry which promote growth and sustainability.

After successfully executing the maiden edition – which brought together almost all stakeholders including the Ministry of Transport led by the Minister, Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority, Ghana Maritime Authority, Ghana Airports Company, leading companies and major associations within the industry – it has been elevated to a bigger and better edition.

The uniqueness of the second edition is the balance brought by the Ghana Shippers Authority between the Service Providers and Shippers categories. Not many of the Shippers were included last year.

Fortunately, this year has new Shippers’ categories: such as Compliant Importer of the Year, Break Bulk Importer of the Year, Dry Bulk Importer of the Year, Liner Importer of the Year, Liquid Bulk Importer of the Year, Compliant Exporter of the Year, Liner Exporter of the Year, Break Bulk Exporter of the Year, Dry Bulk Exporter of the Year, Liquid Bulk Exporter of the Year, Non-traditional Exporter of the Year, Fruit/vegetable Exporter of the Year, Handicraft Exporter of the Year, and Local Beverage Exporter of the Year.

The awards will also honour transparency under the Anas Aremeyaw Anas Transparency awards and the Top Five Most Transparent Companies, since this year’s awards seek to promote transparency within the industry.
