Citi FM’s Sales Revolution trains on new selling skills

Citi FM last week Friday concluded the Sales Revolution as part of activities for the Citi Business Festival. This year’s Sales Revolution marks the third edition of the training program. The main focus bordered on equipping participants with the relevant skills to enable them win over the modern day customer.

The two-day training program which took place at the Coconut Grove Regency hotel in Accra, brought together salesmen and women eager to make a mark in their careers. One hundred and twenty-eight sales personnel from various organizations both in the private and public sectors as well as business owners, took part in this year’s training program.

The facilitators were experienced salesmen; Mawuli Ocloo – a Sales Coach and Maxwell Dodd – CEO, Econet Media. The practical means of imparting knowledge they adopted allowed the participants get a deeper understanding as they were taken along the discussion every part of the way.

Mawuli Ocloo enlightened the participants on the four keys to success and how that could accelerate a salesman or woman’s revenue growth. “Many businesses actually want to grow their businesses rapidly, they don’t have time to wait and therefore there is always the need for sales professional to balance their activities so that they would be able to close more sales within the shortest possible time,” he said.

He also spoke on “Growing Your Business with Sales Prospecting System: Tips, Techniques and Tools to succeed.” Maxwell Dodd on the other hand touched on topics such as “Beating the Competition: Achieving Sales Success”, as well as the “The Salesman’s Survival Kit”. He remarked that, “We spent time together looking at the sales man survival tool kit, every successful person in life has a tool kit. The journey starts with knowing the tool kit that you have and what must be in you tool kit”.

The obviously impressed patrons of the programme, lauded the organizers and facilitators.

Some of them recounted their lessons as, “I am a business owner and I have marketing executives working with me. Most of the time I face some challenges as a foreigner so I decided to attend this program to learn more about how to sell to Ghanaians”.

Another stated that, “As salespersons, we rely on leads and sales calls but this must be planned. Now I know that I should do a lot of leads and sales calls. If I’m able to make 20 sales calls in a day, that should increase my sales target. As a salesman, it is always good to periodically take learning courses.”
