The Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Hollard International have announced the appointment of Mrs Patience Akyianu as the Group CEO of Hollard Ghana Holdings Limited, effective 1 October, 2018.
A statement copied to the B&FT said the appointment reflects a company that is “fired up” and is ready to take on the future “after another year of growth and continued success.”
Patience was the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana and prior to that, the Finance Director.
Before joining Barclays Bank Ghana, she worked as the Chief Finance Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, South Africa, and also held senior roles in Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, spending a total of seventeen years of her career in the banking industry.
“Patience is also no stranger to the financial services fraternity with an undeniably impressive track record of building high performing teams and passion for customer service.”
Commenting on her appointment she said: “Hollard’s purpose of doing well by doing good and helping more people to create and secure a better future, resonates well with my personal values. Insurance has great potential to create positive and enduring change in the lives of Ghanaians and I look forward to being a catalyst for this change”.
Hollard Ghana Holdings Limited is a subsidiary of Hollard International which manages the international portfolio of the Hollard Group currently operating in 18 countries in Africa and Asia.
“Hollard International’s vision is to aggressively grow its insurance businesses in Ghana and will do so by creating dynamic, consumer-oriented insurance solutions that meet the needs of all Ghanaians,” the statement said.
Hollard Insurance Ghana, formerly called Metropolitan Insurance Company (MET), operated successfully in Ghana for 25 years, until it was rebranded as Hollard Insurance Ghana in 2015 and Hollard Life Assurance Ghana which has just started trading, will both be subsidiaries of Hollard Ghana Holdings.
Hollard Ghana Holdings Limited was established to support the vision of becoming the country’s number one insurance group, the statement noted.
