ASA Savings and loans Ghana limited a subsidiary of ASA International as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has donated items worth several thousand of Ghana cedis to the Apam Orphanage located in Pokuase a suburb of Accra.
Raphael Ghansah, Branch Manager, Asa Savings and Loans, Pokuase, said the donation is aimed at giving back to the vicinity in which the company operates.
He said aside the provision of Loan & Savings program ASA Savings and Loans the company has incorporated a Corporate Social Responsibility programme and has allocated a substantial amount of money with an increase year on year.
“Our organisation has been supporting various institutions across the country also especially in education and health screening, with the company donating desktop computers among others to the people of various schools, Mr. Mohammed Majeed Ali-Khan, Divisional Manager, Accra-North, ASA Savings and Loans explained.
Apam Orphanage located close to Pokuase is supervised by the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Gender & Social Protection. It is a faith-based facility founded by Bishop Kwabena Adjeman of the Kingdom House Missions headquartered in Sowutuom -Accra. It houses and educates 38 children.
Asa savings and loans has 108 Business Offices across 6 regions of Ghana and currently serving more than 163,500 clients. The company is working to reach all the 10 regions by close of 2018.
