COVID-19: Gov’t delivers locally produced PPE to health facilities

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has said domestic production of personal protection equipment (PPE) has been stepped up, upon taken delivery and distributing the first batch to health facilities.

According to the President, about 363,830 PPE, since the decision was made to look within the country for these medical items, have been produced and presented to the government for onward supply to health facilities in the country in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The PPE supply is made up of 14,550, scrubs, 11,900 gowns, 19,980 headcovers, 263,281 nose masks, and 13,002 N-95 nose masks. It also includes 41,117 varying types of sanitizers.

The President Akufo-Addo in his 7th address since the outbreak of the disease to the nation said these items, produced locally, have already been delivered to health facilities
