Pharmaceutical firm Ernest Chemists Limited has supported four more hospitals with medical supplies, and presented a cheque for GH¢100,000 to the National COVID-19 Trust Fund to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The company also presented medical supplies such as disinfectants, sanitisers, pain-killers, anti-hypertensives, examination gloves and hematinics to four more health facilities: Kwahu Atibie Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Volta Regional Health Directorate and Margaret Marquart Catholic Hospital(Kpando).

Presenting the cheque on behalf of the company, Brands Communication Manager Mrs. Sharon Anim reiterated the commitment of Ernest Chemists to support this fight and ensure safety of Ghanaians.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the committee, Chairperson of the COVID-19 Trust Fund, Justice Sophia Akuffo, commended Ernest Chemists Limited for its instrumental role in the health sector.

These donations, together with previous donation of medical supplies to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) and the Tema General Hospital, also formed part of the various contributions by the company aimed at promoting the safety of health professionals who are at the forefront of the fight; and also to treat and assist infected coronavirus patients and augment governments’ efforts in its fight against the pandemic.

This is also in line with the company’s goal to support and improve healthcare delivery in Ghana.

Measures

In addition, Ernest Chemists Limited has also put in place measures to help its customers in Greater Accra and Kumasi stay at home during the current lockdown – through its free delivery services along with free vitamin C for immunity-boosting, and access to its pharmacists for health advice and medication counselling.
