Member of the Ghana Covid-19 Taskforce, and outgone Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu has indicated that government and the relevant stakeholders are still engaging on measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus, even as the numbers in the country have surged recently.

As part of measures being taken, he noted that due to the reopening of schools as directed by the President last week, government has recently procured 20 million face masks for distribution among students and teachers in various schools.

“We have made adequate provisions for schools’ reopening. We have not gone to sleep. Government is on its heels trying to see what we can do together, and I believe that we will be able to contain the disease before it gets worse,” he assured.

In addition, he stated that the team will be restarting contact-tracing.

Mr. Agyemang Manu made these remarks in Parliament following a statement by the MP for Juaboso and former ranking member of the Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akando on the rising infection of Covid-19 in the country.
