CalBank has donated about 100 bags of cements to the Adabraka police station to support them in putting up a new building to reduce the pressure on their old structure, which has served them for over 40 years.

The donation forms part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is geared toward improving the livelihood of other people in society.

The Executive Head, Finance and Operations, Thomas Boansi-Sarpong, disclosed that the police station and the bank finds themselves in the same community – emphasising that the police have been of great support to them in their daily business transactions with their customers.

“We always engage them to give us maximum support, especially guiding and helping us in our cash operations. Whenever we call them, they give us men to guide us; therefore, when they approached us and asked for assistance we thought that it was also good to help them,” he said during the donation at Adabraka police station.

He added that there has always been a strong collaboration between the police and the bank, therefore providing support will not end but be a continuous programme – assuring them that support will always be made available for them to complete the building.

Receiving the bags of cement on behalf of the station was Chief Superintendent Asare Bediako. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the bank for its kind gesture and promised of a stronger collaboration between the two.

He added that the project is delaying due to lack of funds and support, and therefore urged other organisations to also contribute to completing the two-storey structure that will serve as offices for the police.

“Unfortunately, we have just a few rooms and they are not spacious. If crime cases come in, a lot of them have to stay outside. So, my predecessor deemed it fit to arrange to have this project; but, unfortunately, she left for a mission and I have taken over to continue,” he said.

Chief Superintendent Asare Bediako stated he strongly believes that as CalBank has shown this support to the station, others which have received their call for support will also do the same and help bring the project to completion.
