Goil commiserates with Kotoko
GOIL Ghana, Official Sponsor of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has shared a message of commiseration with the football club after their team bus was involved in an accident.
In a statement signed by the group CEO and MD, Patrick AK Akorli, the company expressed sympathy for the incident.
“We are heart-broken to learn that an official of the team lost his life while others including players sustained various degree of injuries. As an Official Sponsor of the Porcupine Warriors, our hearts and prayers go to the team,” the statement read.
The Kumasi Asante Kotoko team bus, was returning to Kumasi, after their game against Inter Allies in Accra when the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday night. Head Coach Steve Pollack was among those seriously injured and is said to be recovering after undergoing successful knee surgery. The club's assistant kit manager, Kofi Asare, however lost his life.
GOIL Ghana also pledged continued support for the team and wished the injured players a speedy recovery.
“As an Official Sponsor of the Porcupine Warriors, our hearts and prayers go to the team. GOIL will continue to support Kotoko in the club's moment of grief and pray that the team recovers speedily”, the statement concluded.
