GHPL WRAP: Aduana Join WAFA On Top, Hearts Suffer another setback
In a week where WAFA had their game postponed with a number of their star players on international duty, Aduana took advantage to move joint top. The Dormaa-based club defeated Liberty Professionals to increase their point tally to 40, same points as leaders WAFA.
Sam Adams gave them the lead in the 10th minute via a spot kick. Bernard Arthur drew Liberty level 10 minutes later, making him the first player to net a goal against Aduana Stars in Dormaa in this season's league.
The equaliser did send shivers down the spines of the teeming fans at the Nana Agyemang Badu park but 'Mr. Beautiful Goals', Bright Adjei came to their rescue with what proved to be the winner in the 39th minute. With WAFA yet to visit Dormaa, Aduana have high hopes of winning their 2nd league title.
Asante Kotoko for the second time this season won by more than a goal margin. The Porcupine Warriors made light works of Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium to give their partisan fans hope ahead of next week's Super Clash.
The 3 goals netted by the Porcupine Warriors were all from set pieces. Evans Quao's and Ahmed Adams' from corner kicks, Saddick Adams' from a free kick. Kotoko however couldn't keep a clean sheet. They allowed Bismark Opong to get a consolation in added time.
While Kotoko were winning, their ex player Ahmed Toure was inflicting pains on their rivals, Hearts of Oak.
