The Porcupines Warriors needed yet another late strike at the Baba Yara stadium, this time coming in the 95th minute, to make it three straight wins in the topflight.
Coach of Sharks, Kobbinah Ammisah had managed to keep the sensational youngster out for most parts of the game but Gyamfi with little space shot a superb strike to back of the net.
Kotoko were dominant in the first period. They had several chances in the but failed to convert any. Yakubu Mohammed - who scored to seal all spoils at Ashgold - was the worst culprit of all missing glaring opportunities.
Enterprising winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi failed to connect in the box as he headed a good cross from Emmanuel Gyamfi. But before then, defender Tuffour Frimpong went up for an aerial duel with goalie Francis Arthur, he won but failed to guide his header on target.
Elmina Sharks, albeit, had a rare chance at goal. Joseph Mensah hit shot on target but ball deflected the ball of defender Ahmed Adams.
Kotoko showed more intent in the second half piling on more pressure on visitors but no change in the scoreline. Yakubu close a couple of times as well as Baba Mahama.
By the 80th minute, coach Zdravko Lugarusic had exhausted all substitution with Kwame Boateng, Isaac Quansah and Abass Mohammed brought on for Sarfo Gyamfi, Baba Mahama and Eric Donkor respectively.
