Mass transfers of YEA beneficiaries cost nation Ghc12m- Minority
The ranking member on Youth, Sports and Culture in Parliament, Kobena Mensah Woyome has disclosed that the mass transfers of beneficiaries by the current management of the Youth Enterprise Agency(YEA) has cost the nation in excess of Gh?12million between April and May, 2017.
“If these proposed staff movements indeed go ahead, cost implication (mandatory transfer grants and settlement arrangements) to the Youth Employment Agency is going to be in the region of Gh?12m. This money can be used to train 1000 Community Policing Assistants at the Police Training School and in addition, pay them for one whole year on the programme.
A simple Cost Benefit analysis will demonstrate that the opportunity costs of these transfers is simply not the best use of scarce resources.” he said at a minority press conference in Parliament to react to pronouncements made by current management of YEA.
