EC extends nomination period to Nov. 7
The Electoral Commission has agreed to extend the nomination periods for all parties from Monday November 7 to Tuesday, November 8 as ordered by the Supreme Court.
This follows the decision by the Electoral Commission to concede defeat pertaining to High Court’s ruling to allow PPP’s Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and APC’s Dr. APC’s Hassan Ayariga make corrections to anomalies identified on his nomination forms.
About a month ago, the Electoral Commission disqualified 12 presidential aspirants from contesting this year’s presidential elections due to some errors identified in their nomination forms.
But the Supreme Court has now ordered the Electoral Commission to give all candidates the opportunity to make the necessary corrections, extending further the nomination period to November 8, 2016.
