Forty under 40 Awards nominees announced
One hundred and twenty one nominees have been announced to compete for the maiden fortyunder40 awards, scheduled to come off on 29th September, 2017 at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra.
Under the chairmanship of Professor David Atta Peters and in partnership with Ernst and Young, the awards seek to celebrate outstanding entrepreneurs and Chief Executive Officers under age 40 operating in forty different industries.
The event organisers, Xodus Communications Limited, explained that over 300 entries were received during the nominations process which closed at the end of July, 2017.
Richard Abbey Jnr., Event Director of Xodus Communication, explained that the awards seek to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of the nation's most influential and accomplished young business leaders under the age forty from a wide range of industries.
“These are people who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service and have risen up the ranks of their companies or industries at a relatively young age,” he added.
He added that the nominees must demonstrate or impact lives personally and/ or professionally through their exceptional leadership.
“We are putting the spotlight on these young achievers not only to celebrate them but also build a strong platform for them by giving a voice and opportunities to the next generation of industry pacesetters whiles building a positive attitude in our youth to strive for excellence at a tender age,” he added.
There are forty categories covering a wide range of sectors including Banking and Finance, Health and Wellness, Human Resource and Development, Education, Insurance, Investment and Pensions, Law, Government and Government Agencies, Manufacturing, Logistics and Supplies, Real Estate and Development, and Sales and Marketing.
Others include Advertising and Communications, Technology and Innovation, Mining and Natural resources, Agriculture and Agro-processing, Food and Catering, Beverages, Oil and Gas, Theatre and Arts, Fashion, Architecture, Design and Decor, Hospitality, Safety and Security, Transport and Automotive, Energy, Philanthropy and Non Profit, and Sports.
The rest are Aviation, Consultancy and Professional Services, Family Business, Media (Digital and Social), Event Management, Shipping and Maritime, Journalism (Radio/TV/Newspaper) Printing / Press and Publishing, Construction, Telecom and Mobile, Social Enterprise and Community Development, Beauty and Lifestyle, Authorship and Creative Writing and Travel and Tourism.
The Under 40 Champions Summit
The Under 40 Champions Summit serves as an educational and networking event for shortlisted nominees. The summit offers participants a one-day retreat in order to gain new perspective on their businesses.
It also serves as a networking event for the industry’s present and future leaders. Attendees will have a full day session with renowned strategic business consultant Dr. Ato Conduah, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson and others.
At the Under 40 Champions Summit, achievers and emerging leaders from across the country will converge at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on 14th September to engage with the ideas and issues that shapes our lives and challenges our times.
