Trending male styles to dominate 2017 Accra Men’s Fashion Week

Men’s fashion has always received less attention as compared to women’s fashion. While some have argued that men’s fashion and style are simple and not as complex and diverse as women fashion, others think some more attention should be paid on men’s fashion in an effort to boost men’s fashion sense in our society.

We all know how important confidence is for a man and how it helps one carry himself wherever he finds himself. It is one thing to be fashionable and another to have a great sense of style as one Lexa Doig once said “Men with style are great because they have a sense of self”.

Men ought to have a good sense of style in order to look fashionable. And with a mission to promote mens fashion and style, Accra Men’s Fashion Week was established.

Nana Mensah founded Accra Men’s Fashion Week (AMFW) to focus on providing a platform to promote menswear designs as well as offer opportunities for designers who make men’s clothing to showcase their talent and creativity to fashion lovers, bloggers and media.

This year’s edition themed #ManItis slated to take place at the Lifestyle Gallery from Thursday 25th May to Friday May 26, 2017 7pm each night.

Being in its 2nd year, AMFW is already positioning itself as the go to event for all things menswear and accessories where guests at the event are treated to several amazing designs from talented designers from Ghana and other West African countries.

Abrantie the Gentleman, Totally Ethnik, Marie Val Hagan, BriWireduah, Bushai Weave, Larry Jay, Yaw Bako Clothing are some Ghanaian designers we are earnestly anticipating to see this year on the runway.

Also, confirmed are selected designers from Ivory Coast such as Barros Coulibaly and Samara who will be bringing us some great West African design inspirations that we will be learning about.

According to Nana Mensah, AMFW was inspired by the need to have a men’s fashion show and events that will equally give attention to men’s fashion, including designers and models. It is also to serve as a platform to showcase men’s trends and style and how we can incorporate them into our everyday lives.

The 2 days event will see the winner of Mr. Model Africa 2017 among other professional models take on the runway to showcase these amazing designs.

“We want men to pay attention to what they wear. What inspires designers to design and style men’slook. What types of clothing styles are best for which events and how should one be wearing them”. Nana Mensah added.

Be it high fashion, street style or casual look, these designers are set to showcase their latest collections to guests and media.

Accra Men’s Fashion Week is timely and the exciting thing is that its just about menwear and accessories and we look forward to gaining some more insights into how men’s fashion and style is making waves on the continent.

Do you think our men are fashionable or stylish enough? Then come May 25-26, 2017, 7pm each night make sure to book your seat to attend the 2nd edition of Accra Men’s Fashion Week and see how designers set the trends on how men can look as fashionable as they can.
