Mpaboa nominated for Fashion awards
Local Footwear manufacturer, ‘Mpaboa’ has been nominated in the Accessories Designer of the Year category for the Ghana Fashion Awards this year.
The Ghana Fashion Awards is an opportunity that brings together the fashion industry players to share little ideas and to celebrate fashion.
It was launched primarily to help build the fashion brand in Ghana which celebrates photographers, fashion designers, accessory makers, stylists, models.
Mpaboa would be competing with two others for the Accessories Designer of the Year; comprising bags, shoes, bow tie, hair bands.
According to Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi, the brain behind Mpaboa, he was pleasantly surprised and considered it as an honour to come up for nomination.
“I am really confident of winning eventhough I am barely a year old in the industry, I am hopeful Saturday will turn out well for me” he said prior to the awards night.
Mpaboa was established last year September and is mostly into men’s footwear but he plans to set up a one-stop shop (Mpaboa Café) for his customers in the future.
