Driving made fun…Vivo Energy Ghana launches Shell motorist app
The exclusive distributor and marketer of shell-branded products and services, Vivo Energy Ghana, has led innovation in the downstream petroleum industry in Ghana over the years - and now reinforces that with the introduction of a new Shell motorist app.
After leading the oil marketing industry -- with shell V-Power, a differential fuel in 2007; Shell FuelSave Super and Diesel, to save consumers money on their fuel consumption in 2015; and ‘Ezypass Card’ in collaboration with Zenith Bank last year, all being embraced as timely innovative interventions by vehicle owners -- the Shell motorist app is another leading technology in the oil market industry.
The managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Ebenezer Faulker, introducing the product at the launch said: “The Shell motorist app is designed to offer convenience, personal remainders for oil change; address driving efficiency challenges, and obtain feedback from the customers to serve them better than anyone else.
“The recent opening of a state of the art Shell service station at Haatso with partners such as KFC, MBJ pharmacy, Exotic trends and ATM firms, is testament to the convenience we want to bring to our customers and Vivo Energy Ghana’s commitment to developing its business to exceed competitors in the oil marketing industry,” he said.
The app is built with five exciting and extensive features: a station locator that helps customers locate the nearest shell stations from any location, even identifying those with specific services like restaurants, tyre centres, and ATMs. The news and products feature, which can be referred to as the teller, also provides information on new products, promotions and special offers at Shell stations.
The Mi-garage gives customers the ability to track their vehicles’ maintenance by giving them personalised next-oil-change reminders, as well as a comprehensive list of Shell lubricants.
Shell drive, the reason behind the app being referred to as ‘driving made fun’, is a feature that assists drivers to record their trips in order to improve their driving efficiency and style, as well as compare their driving efficiency with other drivers in Ghana in a league to win some exciting prizes based on points earned.
The Shell motorist app also has a ‘tell shell’ feature that gives the customer a voice to provide feedback to Shell on their experience at service stations.
Jacob Amoah, who represented the Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, said the ministry commends Vivo Energy Ghana for its commitment to the oil marketing industry in Ghana, and for nine years of adhering to international standards without any major accident in its operations.
The Shell motorist app is currently available on Google Play Store for android users, and Apple Store for IOS users, to download and improve their driving style in order to save on fuel consumption.
