Equity Assurance pays claim of over GHc 500m to WTS
Equity Assurance has paid a claim of GHc570,375.00 to Western Transport Services (WTS) at Tarkwa in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region.
“The settlement of legitimate claim is in respect to one of the fleet of vehicles which was considered “write off” as a result of accident which occurred in May, 2017 on the Takoradi-Tarkwa Truck road” Mr. Kingsley Agyeman, Western Regional Manager of Equity Assurance has said.
Presenting the cheque to Western Transport Services, he said – this shows our ‘utmost good faith’ of our business values to our clients that settling legitimate claim is our business.
“Our relationship with our clients (WTS) over the past seven years has matured into a very strong relationship by virtue of our business of prompt settlement of legitimate claim”, he added.
He noted that with the growing competition in the insurance industry, the company believes that the hallmark of a good insurance company should focused on prompt payment of claim and quality customer care.
“At Equity Assurance, we believe that the best way of having sustainable business is the prompt payment of claim and customer focus – we have continuously divorced ourselves from the public perception that insurance companies are only interested in premium and not claim payment” he said.
He added that –this is not part of the business culture of our company; we are committed in restoring our customers to their operations when any unfortunate incident happens.
Mr. Michael Kissi, Director in charge of Finance at Western Transport Services who received the cheque expressed gratitude to Equity Assurance for the timely and prompt payment of this huge claim.
