Wilmar Africa takes distributors to Europe as part of prize package
Wilmar Africa, in collaboration with CUEBIZ, has taken 40 of its distributors to Malta for a one-week holiday experience as part of prizes for meeting their distribution targets.
The trip was designed by CUEBIZ in such a way that it created a mix of business and leisure so that business owners didn’t feel the loss of moving away from business for nearly a week just for leisure.
Also, it was an opportunity for the distributors to explore new business opportunities abroad but with critical attention to moves that will not affect the core business of Wilmar Africa both now and the future.
The success of the trip, according to CUEBIZ , has now established a relationship with the Honorary Consul of Malta in Ghana which has now translated into a very good relationship with the Italian Embassy as well.
Even though not all 50 applicants were granted visas to Malta, organisers believes that a record has been set by CUEBIZ and Wilmar Africa for sending 40 people from Ghana to the European Union for both leisure and business trip and for the records, this is the first of its kind in Ghana.
During the prize presentation, which came off in Accra a month ago, about 40 distributors were presented with plaques, certificates and a promise of a trip to Malta as part of the package for helping the company meets its targets and provide commodities to homes.
Kyei Bekind Enterprise Limited came up tops as the overall best distributor for the year 2016 with Sonturk Investment Company and Kaysens Gaisie Limited, coming in as first and second runner ups.
Lacina Coulibaly, General Manager, at Wilmar Africa noted that rewarding distributors is a way of saying thank you for the partnership and work done throughout the year. “We have been doing this for the past five years but since we started celebrating the winners with a trip outside the country, this is the third year and this year we are taking them to Malta,” he said.
Mr. Coulibaly, noted that even though Wilmar is noted for the cooking oil, Frytol, the company has also added the distribution of Fortune rice.
He added that Wilmar is also committed to improving the lives of the communities it operates in, thus the establishment of a hospital and a school at Benso, a town in the Western Region which has the Benso Oil Palm Plantation, a subsidiary of Wilmar.
