Foreign minister meets Kenyan community …Ahead of Kenya Trade Expo

Executives of the Kenyan Community in Ghana have  paid a courtesy call on  Mrs. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey   Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister warmly welcomed the Kenyan Community delegation and indicated that this is the ?rst time a Foreign Community had organized itself to pay a courtesy call to her of?ce. She commended the community for taking the bold step in making their presence felt.

Mr. Charles Njeru, the Chairman of the Kenyan Community and the Financial  Controller of the Labadi Beach Hotel, thanked the Minister for making time to sit with the delegation. He gave a brief history of the Kenyan Community and the strides it has made in Ghana.

Mr. Ian Kabiru, Director of Horizons Of?ces, expressed his gratitude for the welcoming environment accorded to the Kenyan Business Community.

He revealed that as an investor in Ghana, his business has taken a positive turn since the beginning of the year. He added that this was a clear indication that the business community was hopeful and ready to take chances.

Founder of the Kenya Trade Expo in Ghana, Mrs. Leah Nduati, briefed the Minister on the upcoming Kenya Trade Expo, which is intended to bring together the Kenyan and the Ghanaian business community.

The Trade Expo which would be the second of its kind, will be held at the Prestigious Labadi Beach Hotel from the 1st to 4th November this year.

The Minister  indicated that the Kenyan Community had done well to uphold the Kenyan image in Ghana. She echoed the community's concern that there was no Kenyan High Commission or consular in Ghana.

She promised that she would strongly pick up the conversation with the Kenyan Foreign Minister, to ensure Kenya was formally represented in Ghana.

Other members in the Kenyan Delegation included Miss Emma Wenani - Head PR & Consultancy at Global Media Alliance, Mr. Joe Moseti - Installation Manager at NMSI, Mr. Martin Nzanga the RTM Manager CocaCola Bottling Ghana, Mr. Albert Ngumba - Country Manager Cellulant Ghana, Dr. Kathryn Limo the CEO of VSS and Mr. John Kamau a History Teacher at SOS Hermann-Gmeiner School
